Welcome to the Media Giraffe Project participant furm.

The forum is a unique source for links to news about local online citizen efforts, the future of media, and the intersection of education, politics, multimedia technology and civic journalism.

It's window into the work of the Media Giraffe Project participants -– people like you who are making innovative use of media, old and new, to foster participatory democracy and community.

But most important, MGP-FORUM is a place to share ideas and convene discussions with the more than 300 people who attended MGP2006 – “Democracy & Independence: Sharing News & Information in a Connected World” – the first Media Giraffe Project summit conference at UMass Amherst June 28-July 1.

More than 160 of you completed our post-summit online survey. One of the most frequent comments both in the survey and at our “What’s Next” wrapup session on July 1 – give us a place to stay in touch. MGP-FORUM is that place: An invitation-only, moderated discussion forum, blog, RSS-news feed and window to resources of the Media Giraffe Project and partner sites.
